The Ebony Tarot

The Ebony Tarot, known in French as Le Tarot Ebene, centers real photographs of Afro-descendant models photographed in natural settings across Greater Montreal. Rather than illustrated figures, each of the 78 cards features an actual person, grounding the archetypal imagery in recognizable human presence and giving the deck a warmth and immediacy that illustration-based decks rarely achieve.

Built on Rider-Waite symbolism and presented bilingually in English and French, the deck is rooted in a commitment to reflecting Black identity through art that is both beautiful and spiritually purposeful. It functions equally well as a daily spiritual tool, a collector's piece, or a meditation aid.
