The RainShadow Tarot
The RainShadow Tarot was built over three years by artist Claire Mack, with each card created by hand through painting, collage, and assemblage, choosing materials and arrangements specifically suited to the card being made. The deck follows the Rider-Waite-Smith tradition while introducing new symbolic elements and a visual language rooted in Mack's distinctive creative process. The resulting imagery is both personal and perceptive, with a quality of genuine attention behind every card.
A 56-page guidebook co-written by tarot teacher and artist Autumn Hesse accompanies the deck, providing card interpretations alongside beginner-friendly keywords and concepts.

Claire Mack is a California-born artist who received a BFA in Painting from the California College of Arts in 1987 and has spent most of her life in the Pacific Northwest. Her work is built up intuitively through multiple layers of paint, charcoal, antique paper, fabric, thread, gold leaf, and other materials. She describes art as a source of transcendence and believes it holds a profound healing influence for both the maker and the viewer. Her portfolio includes the RainShadow Tarot, the Illuminated Earth Oracle, and the Faceted Garden Oracle.
