Visconti de Modrone Tarot

The Visconti di Modrone Tarot, also known as the Cary-Yale, is one of three surviving hand-painted Visconti tarots and one of the oldest known tarot decks in existence. The surviving cards are held at Yale University Library and are believed to date from the mid-fifteenth century. This Lo Scarabeo edition presents a digital restoration of the complete 89-card deck, using gold and silver foil throughout to evoke the opulence of the original hand-painted cards and to simulate the gilded engravings of their era. The missing cards have been reconstructed by scholars and included alongside the surviving originals.
